More than ever before, today’s ACCA students are required to learn wide and complex syllabuses in order to achieve their pass grades. And, it’s not easy! We at TonySurridge.co.uk believe that modern technology and ACCA study should go hand in hand in ways that ease the work of students and make their learning enjoyable, interesting and relevant. That’s why we have introduced our series of ACCA E-books - the +AddVance range.

An E-book is the digital equivalent of a conventional printed book or manual. Tony Surridge +AddVance E-Books are designed to be downloaded and read on personal computers (desktops) and laptop computers.
Specifically written by authors with extensive knowledge, the Tony Surridge range of +AddVance E-Books are tailored and suitable for your ACCA study and ACCA revision, in preparation for your ACCA exam.
Produced from our first-hand knowledge of ACCA students over many years, we believe that the Tony Surridge +AddVance ACCA E-Book Series will bring students 10 powerful benefits:
We all know how difficult it is to get that much sought after 'PASS' grade in your ACCA exam. When you go into the exam hall you will need knowledge, application and technique, and strong confidence in your own ability. Examiners no longer simply look for an ability to calculate (after all computers do this at phenomenal speed) – they are concerned about a candidate’s ability to interpret, assess, evaluate and analyse. These attributes are not easily acquired, as many ACCA students have discovered to their cost. Quality exam answers are based on a student having an up-to-date information platform - and this can be more easily achieved by today’s web search engines. Integration of such new information can be more meaningful if your base ACCA study material is already held on computer files.
Students often moan that ACCA exam syllabuses are lengthy but it is vitally important that all learning requirements of a particular subject (aspects, theories, calculation, discussions and so on) are covered. Often this calls for cross-referencing topics covered in different but complementary exam subjects – a task more easily done when different subjects are held on digital memory in the same computer system, rather than referencing through multiple heavy ACCA books.

The constant change in business environments, accounting standards, legislation and working practices influence the focus, context and content of examination questions. Computer technology can quickly incorporate changes within digital text. (There is no stock of unsold ACCA books or manuals which need to be sold before a new edition can be printed.)
Continuing from the previous point, ACCA study material can be irrelevant or designed in ways that are difficult to study. You need the right materials relevant to your ACCA course and ACCA revision. Students often spend too much time studying aspects which are out of date, inappropriate or not suitably emphasised, simply because these are the preferred topics of their lecturers, are easy for their lecturers to teach, or are inadequately dealt with in text-books. We have designed our +AddVance ACCA E-books to track each syllabus, line by line, and provide text, activities, examples, tutorial advice, definitions, mnemonics and exam-status problems as appropriate.
Students who attend formal classroom courses pay for expensive teaching premises, high- salaried lecturers, paper-based ACCA study material and other high overhead costs incurred by their ACCA course provider. All the Tony Surridge +AddVance ACCA E-Books are downloaded to your computer from just £3* (for a price less than a sandwich and soft drink in London!) Where else could you buy a full ACCA subject textbook (effectively a full study package) or an ACCA revision guide from only £3?

Conventional classroom-based courses are restrictive. They usually consist of a preset number of lectures, the same for each subject although a student may find one ACCA subject more difficult than another. Lectures are sometimes 'hurried' because the lecturers responsible for teaching have insufficient time to put across topics in ways they prefer. In many cases, students experience problems in covering 'lost ground' when they miss lectures due to sickness, pressures of work, or for some other reason. Also lecture durations are often too long, or are at the wrong time, say in the evening when a student is tired after a hard day’s work, making concentration over the full length of the lecture difficult. We certainly don’t recommend that you stop classroom tuition – indeed, there are many positives in being taught in a group situation. However many of the traditional problems mentioned here can be eased by the use of computer-based E-books. The simple fact is that, outside of their classroom, students can do what they want, where they want, when they want, and at their own speed! The Tony Surridge +AddVance E-books are an excellent supplement to your ACCA classroom experience.
Students who study at home - because they are compelled to for various reasons, often miss the advantages of interaction with other ACCA students, who after all are facing the same study commitment and problems. One of the downsides of 'home study' is that people are not able to interact in a 'group' situation and learn from each other. Although conventional classroom courses consist of different people attending lectures, each lecture is normally made up of a number of individuals who do not interact as a group. There are cultural and personal reasons why many students prefer to remain separate in the classroom. The Tony Surridge Forum is designed to bring different ACCA students and their problems and ideas together electronically, across wide distances, in a very effective and acceptable way.
