FAQ:  What are your payment terms?

Our payment terms are easy to understand. A payment for our product must be made online (through the secure SagePay gateway) and verified (usually this is immediate) before the product is emailed to you ready for quick download.

FAQ: Is the +AddVance E-book downloaded onto my computer?

Effectively yes. At point of purchase, your new +AddVance E-book is emailed to your registered email address, for you to then download to your computer in your own time. You will also receive an email with your activation license and a link to download the one-off browser to read our the +AddVance E-books.

FAQ: How will I receive my +AddVance E-books?

Once payment has been verified by SagePay (and this is usually immediately), you will be redirected to a screen displaying either “successful payment” or “failed payment”.

When successful, two automatic emails are sent to your registered email address (some email accounts such as Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail etc. can take up to approximately ten minutes to receive, and it is also advisable to check your junk/spam boxes as well.)

One email will contain a link for your free browser software, and an attachment for your activation license. The other will be your invoiced receipt with the download link for your chosen E-book.

1) First download and install the free browser that you need to view the software. Alternatively click here to download now: http://www.tonysurridge.co.uk/safeguard_viewer.

2) Second – double click the activation license file which was attached to that same email. When clicked upon, a small pop-up should appear with about 2 lines saying “successful registration to Tony Surridge Online”.

PLEASE NOTE. Only click on this license file whilst using the computer you wish to view your E-books from. That license will then LOCK to THAT computer and only allow access to the E-books from that computer. This activation cannot be reversed if you open that license file on a computer you don't wish to use. It is not advisible to use communal machines at internet cafes. These licenses and products were designed for use on private home computers.

3) On your invoice receipt email, click on the E-book download link and save your E-book to your computer. As long as you've completed steps 1 and 2, you can now then open it and read as normal.
PLEASE NOTE. This download link will only accept one download, so make sure you save that E-book to your computer

It is important to remember that any +AddVance E-book you buy from us can only be read and used on the computer, where you initially activated your license file from. You will not be able to transfer the data from one computer to another.

E.g. If you’ve bought your +AddVance E-book whilst using a work/college/internet cafe computer using a universal email account (such as Hotmail) as your registered address, but you want to use the E-book on your home computer... wait until you open your Hotmail account from your home computer, THEN activate your license on that computer. DO NOT activate the license file from the work/collegeinternet cafe computer, otherwise that +AddVance E-book is forever locked to that computer.

FAQ: How long will it take me to download each +AddVance E-book?

The time taken to download depends on a number of factors, such as the size of the publication and your own bandwidth and speed. But as a rough example, a 500 page Study Text E-book, downloaded onto a PC, via a 1Mb internet connection will take approximately 2 minutes. Not a long time!

FAQ: How do I return a faulty E-book if I need to?

Due to the electronic nature of the product, we do not offer returns on our +AddVance E-books. A free download sample of each +AddVance E-book is provided for customers to review before purchase. FAQ: What type of computer do I need to use your +AddVance E-books?

Our free browser software can be installed only on PCs, either a desktop or laptop. Unfortunately at present our software is not yet compatible with MACs, but we are working on it!

PLEASE NOTE: To use our +AddVance E-books you need to activate your unique license (as previously mentioned). This license can only be activated once and it is important to make sure you are activating it on the computer you wish to read the +AddVance E-books from in the future. Once activated, it will lock to that computer and ONLY ALLOW ACCESS FROM THAT COMPUTER. Likewise it is important to note that our software is forbidden for use on networked computers or computers linked to any form of company intranet. Our software may prevent you from opening our +AddVance E-books in such electronic environments.

FAQ: I use a MAC, so can I still read your +AddVance E-books?

No. Unfortunately our free browser software and +AddVance E-books are not yet compatible with MACs, but we are trying to adapt it shortly. We are working on it.

FAQ: Do I need any special software?

Yes you will. As a one-off, you will be asked to download the FREE browser software, very similar to any PDF reader that you are probably familiar with, which is the software required to read our +AddVance E-books. This reader is very user friendly and works in the same way as any other PDF reader.

FAQ: Your free browser software occasionally asks me if I want to check for updates. Should I allow it and is it free?

Yes. When asked, you should allow it to check for updates. It is more likely that you will already be using the most recent version. However from time to time, new versions of the software browser are released to improve quality and subsequently future +AddVance E-books which we publish will require this latest version of the browser to be viewed upon.

The updates are absolutely free and will only take a couple of seconds to perform. To perform an update, an internet connection is required.

FAQ: Is the +AddVance E-book and free browser software compatible with Linux operating systems?

Unfortunately they are not compatible with Linux operating systems. They are designed for use with Windows 2000 and higher, and also MAC OS X.

FAQ: The download link for the free browser software is shown in every email, each time I buy another +AddVance E-book. Do I need to download the browser software every time?

No. You only need to download and install the free browser software once. After that, the download link for the browser software within those emails can be ignored. Your browser software may need free updates periodically, but it will ask when it needs to perform those update checks.

FAQ: Do I need to remember a password to use your +AddVance E-books?

Absolutely not! Once you click the activation license (attached to one of the two emails sent to you on purchase), the product is locked to your own computer and is totally under your control. From then on you can open the +AddVance E-book as normal and simply treat it like any of your other files.
PLEASE NOTE. Only click on this activation license file whilst using the computer you wish to view your +AddVance E-books from. FAQ: Do I have to be on-line to the internet to read your +AddVance E-books?

No, once our +AddVance E-book has been downloaded to your computer you will not need to be continuously linked to the internet to read it. Your computer will merely access it from your own hard-drive just like any other file. This is the principal benefit of us providing you with the free special sofware browser.

The only time an internet connection is required, is for the initial purchase, download and license activation. However from time to time (approximately every 3 months) our software browser will ask for brief connection to the internet to verify your purchase and authorised access to your +AddVance E-books. Also the software browser will periodically ask to perform free update checks to ensure you have the latest version. Again this requires only a brief connection to perform the checks and install any updates.

Yes, any of our +AddVance E-books can be printed in black and white or colour.

Our +AddVance E-books are structured physically in a page number sequence which when printed looks like any other loose-leaf book. Obviously the hyperlinking will only be relevant when a book is in its electronic form. Due to the size, we recommend that sections of our +AddVance E-books are printed as and when required and filed on a two-ring binder allowing quick reference and portability.

For copyright issues, the Tony Surridge logo may be present as a watermark, and utilises a type of imbedded font (undetectable by the eye) to prevent text scanning. It won’t affect your viewing and reading pleasure, but it is necessary so we can provide such low cost material in this method. Likewise your own customer details may be printed as a similar watermark alongside the Tony Surridge logo.
