Leading AAT tutors are asking PQ magazine why the AAT doesn’t appear to be passed on the savings they have made from the introduction of the new AAT exams. The new scheme CB tests will be set and marked by a computer. So, said one leading tutor, in future CB projects will be set by the computer and assessment by the colleges (so the AAT no longer has to pay exam hall costs which ran into the £100,000s). The big question, said our insider is why the AAT haven’t reduced its exam costs.
PQ understands that the costs of sitting the AAT exams are now £100 more expensive.
To sit the old level 2 cost £153; the new level cost £150. The level 3 exams cost £136 and the new level £231. The old level 4 came in at £202 and the new level is £210.
So the old exams cost £491 to sit, and in effect the new ones cost £100 more at £591.
*Now the tutor who told us all this wasn’t sure if the fees were set in stone, so we will be asking the AAT to confirm these figures.
