CIMA gateways
CIMA is working hard to ensure it opens up its qualification to accountants on the sub-continent. It’s professional accountancy and MBA gateway papers are proving a big hit in both India and Pakistan. Those cost and works students have to sit a three-hour exam with three compulsory questions from the three management accounting papers. The pass rate in May was 36%. Students sitting the CIMA MBA gateway managed a 32% success rate. An institute spokesman explained that the gateway is proving a great way for students to see if they can seriously achieve the standards needed to become a management accountant.
CIMA has now signed a memorandum of understanding with the cost and management institute in Bangladesh, enabling those who have passed the ICMAB’s professional exams a ‘fast track’ route into CIMA’s Strategic level exams.
