TonySurridge.co.uk “pipped” at the winning post, for the coveted PQ Magazine awards of “Accountancy Website of the Year” and “Accountancy Lecturer of the Year” 2010.

Held in the elegant venue of Quaglinos near London’s Piccadilly Circus, this year’s PQ Awards celebrated recognition in the accounting industry amongst some of the leading professionals. For many, it offered a great networking opportunity and promoted healthy competition, as some very well known companies and individuals sat side-by-side eagerly awaiting the announcements.
There were 12 categories in total: Student Body of the Year / Accountancy Body of the Year /
Accountancy Website of the Year / Accountancy College of the Year /
Accountancy Lecturer of the Year / Boss of the Year / Accountancy Team of the Year / Accountancy Personality of the Year / NQ of the Year / Distance Learning Student of the Year / PQ of the Year / Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Tony Surridge team were nominated, and eventual finalists, for 2 categories of this year’s

Sadly the Tony Surridge team were “pipped” at the post, funnily enough losing the award of “Accountancy Website of the Year” to their working partners at “OpenTuition.com”. Managing Director, Chris Surridge, joked as he shook hands with his counterpart at the OpenTuition table, promising to “prise the award from them next year”.
Graham Hambly, editor of the PQ magazine, put on quite a bash for the night with entertainment provided by magician Chris Dugdale – and Accountancy educated blues guitar player, Dan Nash. Drinks service was superbly delivered by the staff of Quaglinos, along with a platter of delicious nibbles for all the guests. After the formalities of winning and announcements, the night was topped off with a disco playing into the night, as the hard-working professionals had a night off and deservedly let their hair down.

The PQ Magazine “Lifetime Achievement Award” went to Mr Dan Gidwaney - formerly a colleague of Tony Surridge’s when he was a lecturer at Accountancy Tutors. Tony was very pleased to see his old friend claim the award and commented what a remarkable man Mr Gidwaney is, with unrivalled dedication to the industry.
The PQ Awards 2010, although held towards the start of this calendar year, showed promise of a good year to come.
