PwC looking for growth
PwC, the market leading accountancy firm, has announced that it has grown turnover to £2,331m, up by 4%. Senior Partner Ian Powell said that despite a tough year PwC delivered a good solid set of results. Acknowledging that there remain challenges ahead he also announced that the firm plans to create 800 new jobs across the business to enhance the services and value the firm offers to clients. This figure is on top of the 1,200 graduate trainees already being lined up to join the firm.
Powell’s salary for the year - a cool £3.6m, while the average partners profit (salary) was £750,000. This is a 2% drop on the previous year.
This news comes just days after the Big 4 revealed that they plan to sign up 3,850 graduates between them this year. Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PwC collectively hire just over 1% of all British graduates.
