Visa cut coming
Students from outside the European Union are likely to find it more difficult to enter the UK, as the new Government tries to reduce immigration. This is despite the fact that UK education is our biggest export generator [editor}.
The new Home secretary, Theresa May has announced a review of student visas, when she laid out her proposals for a permanent cap to be placed on economic immigrants from outside Europe.
Last year the UK issued 273,000 student visas. The concern is that any reduction in this number could cause the meltdown at one of the UK’s newer universities. Some private colleges could also feel the pressure.
