The accountancy profession supports diversity and that means broadening its reach to attract new pools of talent. So said Michael Izza, CEO of the ICAEW, who was responding on behalf of the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) to the report of the Panel on Fair Access to the professions. The CCAB will be participating in the Gateways to the Professions working groups and Izza hopes that this work will bring into sharper focus current education and training and recruitment practices. He went on to say that a diverse accountancy profession makes good economic sense and said accountancy was pleased that the government is putting this issue at the heart of its business policy agenda that encourage.
