All quiet on the CIMA front

CIMA played a it ‘relatively safe’ with the final set of exams under the old syllabus, according to PQ magazine’s Exam Review Board.  That doesn’t mean there weren’t any tricky papers out there in November.  TOPCIMA students could have wasted a lot of time looking for non-existent issues.  It was very different in style and some would have struggled to find five issues to discuss!  Even the ethics bit was a bit harder this time around.  The return of the balance scorecard in P6 was also proof that examiners don’t like being second-guessed by tipping tutors. Those with poor basic syllabus knowledge would also have problems with P5.  Looking at usual problem papers  the views of our independent ERB were ‘mixed’.  Our Sarah Knight felt P1 was an ‘ouch’ and P2 an ‘ow’.  Another member, Jerome Payne, felt that P1 was arguably the most straightforward exam set for some time.  For a full rundown on what out experts thought see the January issue of PQ magazine – out now!
