Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulations 2003

Jobseekers and recruiters need to be aware that this job board operates as a venue only and does not introduce or supply jobseekers to recruiters or recruiters to jobseekers. This means that TSOL do not:

  • obtain sufficient information for potential recruiters to select a suitable jobseeker for the position which the recruiter seeks to fill;
  • obtain confirmation of the identity of a jobseeker or that they have the qualifications, training, experience, or authorisation to work in the position to be filled or that they want to undertake the role to be filled;
  • take any steps to ensure the jobseeker and recruiter (or employer) are each aware of any requirement imposed by law or otherwise which must be satisfied by either and both of them to permit the jobseeker to fulfil the position to be filled;
  • take any steps to ensure that it would not be detrimental to the interests of the jobseeker or the recruiter for the jobseeker to fulfil the position to be fulfilled;
  • give any indication to recruiters the suitability (whether suitable or unsuitable) of the jobseeker for any position to be filled in any circumstances;
  • propose or recommend jobseekers to recruiters or recruiters to jobseekers or provide any information about them.
  • take up any references in relation to a jobseeker; or
  • make any arrangements for accommodation of jobseekers.

The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulations 2003 (the "Regulations") seek to ensure that jobseekers are only proposed or recommended by employment agencies for roles for which they are properly qualified and that recruiters are only presented jobseekers who have the appropriate levels of training, qualifications and experience for the position to be filled. Since the tonysurridge.co.uk website is only a venue and do not propose, recommend or introduce jobseekers to recruiters or vice versa, it is recommended that, if you are a jobseeker you undertake the steps set out in the "Regulations" to ascertain your suitability for the role advertised or, if you are a recruiter, to ascertain a jobseekers suitability for the role.

These could include:

  • If you are a jobseeker; checking the identity of the recruiter (prospective employer) and the nature of its business, the position to be filled including type and nature of work, location, the commencement date and duration of the position, hours and risks to health and safety, training, qualifications and experience which the recruiter considers necessary or are required by law or otherwise to undertake the position, whether any expenses are payable by you as a jobseeker or whether there are any requirements imposed by law or otherwise for you to satisfy before taking up a position.
  • If you are a recruiter; checking the identity of the jobseeker and that the jobseeker has the training, qualifications, experience and authorisation required by law or otherwise for the position and whether there are any requirements imposed by law or otherwise for you, as the recruiter, to meet to enable a jobseeker to take up a position.

In addition, where professional qualifications are required or where jobseekers are to work with vulnerable persons or children, you should obtain copies of the appropriate qualifications or authorisation, obtain at least two references from people who are not relatives of the jobseeker and undertake a criminal records bureau check of the jobseeker.

Any searching or screening tools provided by us for use in your assessment and evaluation of the suitability and acceptability or otherwise of any particular candidate or advertised vacancy are to assist you in carrying out these steps, but are not intended as a substitute.

Job seeker (or Job finder or work seeker or work finder) information. When you register on the website tonysurridge.co.uk you will be asked to provide certain information including, without limitation, a valid email address (known as "Information"). In addition to the Terms and Conditions that may be set forth in the privacy policy on the tonysurridge.co.uk website, you understand and agree that TSOL may disclose to Third Parties, on an anonymous basis, certain aggregate information contained in your registration application. TSOL will not disclose to any third party your name, address, e-mail address or telephone number without your prior consent, except to the extent necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable laws or in legal proceedings where such information is relevant. TSOL reserves the right to offer Third Party products and services to you based on the preferences that you identify in your registration and at any time thereafter; such offers may be made by TSOL or by Third Parties. Please click on the Privacy Policy of TSOL for fuller details regarding the privacy of your "Information".

 Tony Surrridge Online Limited’s jobseeking services are free to use.

Payments are made by debit/credit card using SagePay’s secure transaction environment. We understand that some people have security concerns about paying online because of their unwillingness to transmit credit card details along public telephone systems. Free download specimen section of an e-book

We allow any person to freely download a specimen section of each and every one of our publications, which can then be reviewed privately before a purchase decision is made. Just click the "Download a free sample" in any of our e-book product descriptions.

All purchases in the form of electronic book (e-book)

To restrict the costs of TSOL so that we pass them on to our users in the form of very low selling prices we default all purchases in the tonysurridge.co.uk website store as electronic books (e-books) otherwise known as "downloads". Because of this, and for software security issues, TSOL will not refund the purchase price of any e-book downloaded. We urge our users to use our free sample system and to be sure of their purchase intention before committing themselves to the purchase of an e-book. Alternatively at request, we also provide the text content in the form of paperback hardcopy. Varying purchase prices, delivery costs, delivery times, and availability will apply to these alternate products. In the cases of paperback hardcopy text books bought, a full refund of the purchase price may be given if returned within a 7-day cooling off period after purchase. All delivery costs will remain the cost of the buyer and not be refunded.

Single computer use

Just like any company attempts to protect its copyright TSOL secures electronic rights by using advanced Digital Rights Management (DRM) techniques which means that we disable the ability of our users to transfer the digital data from one computer to another. This means that a TSOL e-book can only be read or printed from the computer it is downloaded to. This is a very important feature and users are advised to consider its implications before purchasing any e-book from the tonysurridge.co.uk website. To ensure copyright of any material you may choose to print off from our e-books, a TSOL watermark may be added.

The download system

In order to access and read any of our purchased e-books, you are required to download a one-off free browser software. Once downloaded it acts as a user-friendly reading platform to read the e-books. Now you can purchase e-books. Once payment has been verified by SagePay, and this is usually immediately, you will receive an e-mail containing an activation link and a download link for your chosen e-book. Simply click on the activation link to activate your license, and click on the download link to download and save your purchased e-book to your computer. You are now able to use the e-book and there is nothing more to do. You do not have to remember a TSOL password. The file will now be held permanently on your computer, under your full control, and you can erase it when you decide to. It is important to remember that any e-book you buy from us can only be read and used on the computer you initially download it to.  You will not be able to transfer the data from one computer to another. TSOL do not provide any warranty that tonysurridge.co.uk or any of its downloadable software is free from infection by viruses or anything else that has contaminating or destructive properties. If use of the tonysurridge.co.uk website, or the "TSOL Substance", or any of the TSOL’s downloadable software and material results in the need for servicing or replacing equipment or data, or loss of profits, TSOL is not responsible for those costs, and you release TSOL of any and all liability. Tonysurridge.co.uk, "TSOL Substance", and all downloadable software and material are provided on an "as is" basis without any warranties of any kind.
